Minyi received her Bachelor of Music degree from the Juilliard School, where she is currently pursuing her Masters degree under Julian Martin. During her time at Juilliard, she also studied with Jerome Lowenthal, Matti Raekallio and Joseph Kalichstein. In addition to her studies at Juilliard, she has also performed for world-renowned artists in masterclasses, such as Richard Goode, Arie Vardi and Emanuel Ax.
Minyi’s recent performance highlights include two solo recitals at Juilliard, her concerto performance debuts of the Schumann Concerto in A minor in Shenzhen, China, and the Ravel Concerto in G major with the Fort Worth Symphony in the United States, where she was named a winner of the PianoTexas Concerto Competition.
Additionally, Minyi has been a prize winner at numerous competitions and has performed in major venues in China, Japan and the United States. Born in Shenzhen, China, Minyi started playing piano at the age of six.
Her teachers there include Professors Mei Xiao, Zhaoyi Dan, and Mingqiang Li. After moving to the States at the age of 15, she went to the Interlochen Arts Academy, where she studied with Dr. Thomas J. Lymenstull. During her time at Interlochen, Minyi was selected as the Edward P. Frohlich Piano Scholar and the George and Joyce Kempton Academy Piano Scholar.
In past summers, she has been a participant at the Art of Piano, Pianofest in The Hamptons and PianoTexas festivals.
