Violin & Piano
Yuyu Ikeda, violin and piano, holds a Master’s degree from the Juilliard School as a student of Laurie Smukler. She earned undergraduate degrees in biology and violin performance from the Oberlin College and Conservatory, where she studied with David Bowlin. Additional mentors include Koichiro Harada and Linda Rose.
Yuyu has previously appeared at the Pacific Music Festival as concertmaster, and the Sarasota Music Festival where her chamber performance was broadcast on WQXR-FM. After debuting at the age of 10 with the Bellflower Symphony Orchestra, she has played with orchestras such as the Orchestra Collective of Orange County, and the Ueno Orchestra in Japan.
Yuyu also mentors chamber music and orchestra as a fellow at Juilliard’s Music Advancement Program, and teaches violin and theory at the Opportunity Music Program in New York. She is also a teaching artist at Midori and Friends and a private violin and piano teacher at West Amadeus Music Studio.
