Joe Jones fell in love music at a young age. After hearing selections from Mozart’s Marriage of Figaro in his small-town elementary school, he eagerly asked to start piano lessons. Some years and many concerts later, Joe is performer, teacher, and composer based in NYC. He is a graduate of The Juilliard School’s Historical Performance program and performs regularly around the country and the world, with groups like The English Concert, Boston Early Music Festival, and Brecon Baroque.
Joe has taught piano, bassoon, and music theory at colleges and privately for more than a decade. He has also worked with ensemble like Lyra Baroque Orchestra to develop and produce online music education videos, and teaching artist programs in schools. Though classically trained he encourages his students to explore diverse repertoire from video game music to pop, and especially improvisation and composition.
